Wildcrafted Goldenrod Tincture

$15.00

Various species of the Goldenrod (Solidago) genus are used in many cultures for their astringent, antitussive, anti-asthmatic, and decongestant properties. Tinctured for 6-8 weeks in high-quality vodka, this Goldenrod Tincture and my Nettle Tincture are my go-to remedies for seasonal allergies and chronic rhinitis!

Contraindications: Do not use in pregnancy, or if you have allergies to Asteraceae.

Bonus plant-fact: Goldenrods sometimes get a bad reputation for causing seasonal allergies, but this is generally a misconception. Goldenrods bloom at the same time as Ragweeds, which are more likely to be the culprit for your allergy sniffles.

Each listing is for one 2oz dropper bottle. This batch was decanted in June 2024.

Here are some journal articles if you’re interested in learning more, but please remember to always do your own research.

Šutovská, M., et al. "Characterization and biological activity of Solidago canadensis complex." International journal of biological macromolecules 52 (2013): 192-197.

Apati, P., et al. "Herbal remedies of Solidago—correlation of phytochemical characteristics and antioxidative properties." Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis 32.4-5 (2003): 1045-1053.

Dosage is up to one dropperful three times a day. If you’re new to tinctures, start slow with half a dropperful each dosage. Drops can be taken under your tongue, but I prefer mine in a tasty beverage or some lemon water. Store in a cool, dry place, and tinctures should be good for up to 24 months from manufacture date. Discard if you note any changes to the smell.

Ingredients: Distilled corn vodka (40 ABV), responsibly foraged goldenrod aerial parts (Solidago canadensis).

⚠️ Please note: I am not a doctor giving medical advice! If you are allergic to other members of the family Asteraceae, or you are pregnant, I recommend you not use this product. If you have an allergic reaction, please discontinue your use of the product and see your physician. Consult a physician if you take any daily medications and have concerns about drug interactions before starting use.
